Where do I start? Maybe I should start at the incident that changed my life forever. On July 9th of 2015, I fell 15 ft, head first into a concrete basement at my workplace. I fractured my spine, lost LOTS of blood, suffered a massive laceration to the back of the head, and was knocked out. Shortly after I was told that I had a Traumatic Brain Injury. I had to battle my way through lawyers, workman's compensation hell, and all sorts of surprises with my doctors. Did I mention I was 17? I'm now 19 and I am still suffering greatly. I was recently hospitalized in the behavioral health unit for 5 days and released to the hospital's day treatment program that runs 5 days a week. What I have learned from all of this is to be patient. Things don't heal overnight.
As for my political views, I am extremely liberal. I was a die-hard Bernie Sanders supporter. I support socialism to an extent. Democratic socialism is where this country needs to be headed. But what does a 19 year old's view matter?
I hope to meet you all and learn some new perspectives in relation to politics and gain some new friendships! Peace!
