Before leaving Palestine she met with her brother Giora who had just arrived from Europe— the sole surviving member of her immediate family other than her mother—and the two spent the afternoon together on the shores of the Mediterranean, bringing each other up to date with personal and family news.

So this 23-year-old female "paratrooper" named Hannah Szenes (1921–1944) came from a family of four--Mom, Dad, brother, Hannah.
Her father, Béla Szenes, died in 1927 at age 33. That left just Hannah, her mother, and her brother.
In early 1944, Hannah met with her brother, "who had just arrived from Europe— the sole surviving member of her immediate family other than her mother."
