Wonder what an athiest would have done?

An Atheist would have handed over the money so the robber could pay his rent.

and we can find numerous wwjd.....

these threads really don't do any justice....not all christians are good and not all atheists are bad

I know. Id rather the thread just focus on what he did then compare it to what an athiest would do.

How dare that son of a bitch not just roll over and die like a good Christian should

BBC News - Christian shop manager dissuades would-be armed robber

The incident was captured on the shop's CCTV system

A 20-year-old Christian mobile phone shop manager in Florida stopped a would-be armed robber by preaching to him about Jesus.

And the "would-be" armed robber proceeded to rob a shoe store a few hours later:

Apparently, the answer is, the atheist let's him rob her.

And youve deduced that the Payless employees are all atheists? Please tell me what information led you to this conclusion?

Please excuse my smarta** conclusion...I thought it was funny, apparently not everyone has as warped a sense of humor as I do.

Did christianity give the first store owner some magical insight into the robber's intent? Most times....as you know perfectly well, Againshelia....the robber will beat the store owner (or worse) to get what he came after. T'aint fair at all to even recommend this sort of resistance to people.

Hand over the till; money is not worth getting killed for.

Perhaps she did. Other people have stopped robbers, in various ways. I liked the guy who tried to hold up the liquor store and the two women kept hitting him over the head with bottles. It was on "America's dumbest criminals".

Think about it, pre 9/11 wouldn't you have done whatever a hijacker said? Would you now?

There's no guarantee the robber isn't going to shoot you even if you do what he says. Access the situation and decide for yourself. I have a great deal of respect for the manager of the cell phone company, and I'm guessing if she could talk him out of it, so could others.

Stories about ordinary people defeating robbers are satisfying, Againshelia. that's why shows like "The Smoking Gun" are so popular. But any cop will tell you, hand over the money.

That is the safe, sane thing to do.

Madline, the safe sane thing to do in an armed robery is to hand over the money.

First off its not your money your handing over, its the shops and they have insurance.
Second you dont risk your life for money, that is just foolish.

To be fair, an atheist could have just glocked his ass instead of boring him to death.

Luke 10:25-37 - PassageLookup - New International Version - BibleGateway.com

25:On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

26:"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

27:He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'[a]; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

28:"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."

29:But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

30:In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

31:A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.

32: So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33: But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

34: He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.

35:The next day he took out two silver coins[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

36:"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

37:The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
