In his weekly radio and online address Saturday, Obama said Detroit automakers are on track to build cars that average nearly 55 miles per gallon by 2025, doubling current mileage standards.
“That means folks will be able to fill up every two weeks instead of every week, saving the typical family more than $8,000 at the pump over time,’’ he said. “That’s a big deal, especially as families are yet again feeling the pinch from rising gas prices.’’

$8,000 in savings OVER TIME????
What is over time because the average 12,000 miles per American at 25 mpg means
in a year spending $1,440 at $3/gal for 480 gallons..

But OBAMA says savings of $8,000 or half of the $16,000 a year spent doesn't make sense so he had to mean over a period of years...
BUT 2025 is when mpg is to be 55...
So this mythical $8,000 won't happen for 13 years.
But say it does.. That means instead of 480 gallons it will be 240 gallons.
Unfortunately gas will be at the rate of growth since Obama's been in office:83%
increase or an average over his 3 years: of 27% a year!
hmmm.. gas today $3.75 growing at modest 10% a year for 13 years..
2025 gallon of gas increasing at 10% a year will be $13.00
So EVEN if the car gets 55mpg.. driving 12,000 miles gets 240 gallons THAT's GREAT!
Just it costs $3,208 for those 240 gallons in 2025!!!

So again.. if today at $3.75/gal to fill up 480 gallons a year that's: $1,800!

SO where is Obama coming up with $8,000 in SAVINGS if gas goes to $13/gallon?
Remember Chu of his administration SAID..
Are you saying that you no longer share the view that we need to figure out how to boost gasoline prices in America?" Lee asked
"I no longer share that view," Chu said.

It's all smoke and mirrors, the American people.......well most of them, are smarter than he thought. He's so used to grooming his sheep to worship his words they blindly follow him and everything he says. Not all Americans behave like the OWS group. What was that called when the spokesperson said something and everyone else repeated the same thing?

It sounded good, wonder if he'll apologize for lying???

He's fudging the numbers like the cost of ObamaCare that is now at CBO estimates to be double...

Very few leftists do.

What was that called when the spokesperson said something and everyone else repeated the same thing?

I call it being a partisan parrot. A rube. Having a brain capacity no bigger than a bumper sticker. Dumb.

Politicians lie is obvious! But here we have a President THINKING Americans don't scratch their heads and wonder how they spend $16,000 on gas in a year to save $8,000?

Given that figure at say $3.75 /gal that's 4,266 gallons. At 25 mpg that's 106,000 miles a year!

But see this idiot President doesn't think Americans are smart enough to do simple math OR else HE isn't smart enough!

Just like he did in Obamacare when it passed by 6 votes... People NEVER questioned where the number 50 million uninsured came from! Just sounded good.. UNTIL you realize:
Census says 10 million of "uninsured" are NOT citizens!
Or 14 million of "uninsured" are already covered by Medicaid.
But the biggest group is the 18 million under age 34 that earn over $50,000 and turn down employer insurance FOR MANY REASONS chief being they pay out of pocket PLUS they don't need it!
BUT the FACT is they were included in that bogus number and politicians voted for Obamacare NOT thinking that there were realistically ONLY 8 million truly uninsured!
And those could be covered by taxing lawyers @10% of their $100 billion in fees!
That $10 billion would pay for the 8 million truly uninsured!

Well, President Obama never lied us into a war, then lowered the tax rates, and made the amazing claim that the war would pay for itself.

No, Barry told an out and out lie about what Obamacare was going to cost the American taxpayers. And if you don't think Steven Chu was lying through his teeth about not wanting higher priced gas in order to try and keep his boss employed, then you're about as naive as they come.

It's amazing this country managed to have 12 years of incredibly horrid Presidents and congress. Look how far we have fallen, we now count the 400k people that fall off the ass end of employment as jobs created so that 80k jobs actually created can bring the UE number down.

We live in an America where Obama is considered the Anti war peace President despite getting kicked out of Iraq when he wanted to extend past the Evil Bush exit timeline, Obama expanded Afghanistan, Obama helps rebels overthrow Gadaffi, starts a war in Syria and we boarder on a war with Iran.

We live in a time where a President can dump TRILLIONS on the markets by literally giving his friends money so that "numbers" go up and that's not seen as blinding corruption and obvious distortion of the real economy.

Yes Bush was bad, Bush was clueless and played a big hand in destroying much of what America had, but Obama has literally brought the US to it's knees by expanding upon Bush era policies, not repealing a SINGLE evil destructive Bush policy.

When the people that give a near perfect Prediction and show their work on how and why things will fall apart they are ignored and attacked. Yet here we are, watching Obama, Dems, Bush and Republicans shaking a magic 8 ball and waiting for the answer to what to do next pop up... and these people are given credit for ANY good news but take NONE of the accountability when their plans backfire as they were told it would.

Answer: Nothing.

LOL. Where was this math when Bush created the tax cuts while we had a couple of wars going? How about the claim that the war would pay for itself? How about the initial claims of what the war would cost?

You claim that President Obama's math is bad, Bush's math cost us the lives of over 4500 of our sons and daughters, and three trillion in national treasure by the time we pay for the Iraq war. And Bush doubled the national debt for no gain at all.
