Why isn't Congress requiring police who arrive at school shooting scenes to charge until they see a dead shooter? This is not first time.

Parkland comes to mind.

Because it's all about disarming law-abiding citizens, not saving kids.

multiple police were on scene within minutes of 11:35 a.m. shooter entry into school. They take fire and retreat. The shooter kills. By 12:10 Nineteen police in body armor with automatic weapons are in hall, with kids dead, wounded, and being shot in classrooms within hearing range. Nothing happens until Border Patrol unit arrives 40 minutes later which storms and kills the gunman.

If we have laws on gun control can't we have laws detailing police procedure? Military law, which is a part of US criminal code, punishes cowardice and shirking the charge with the firing squad. If you're going to be a cop, be damned sure what your job might be someday, or don't sign up.

It's not up to the feds to require the police in a state follow the fed's procedures.

A little civics goes a long way.

The feds can encode penalties for "cowardice" by police in narrowly defined situations.

LOL....Must be damn narrow like a bogus civil rights charge.

Congress writes rules of engagement laws for police all the time, like the federal chokehold ban.

This is already training doctrine across the country.......police departments are told that the first officers on the scene are not to wait, they are to immediately enter the building, shouting they are the police...

Mass public shooters tend to commit suicide, surrender or runaway as soon as the police arrive....the Sandy Hook shooter stopped shooting and killed himself as soon as he heard the police sirens, the Parkland shooter ran away.......the Colorado theater shooter surrendered to the first officer that challenged him.....

But, if the government agents just refuse to enter, like the democrat party sheriff in Uvalde...there is nothing you can do......if you don't arm at least some of the staff.

Let's federalize local police!....No trouble brewing there!

The police have no requirement to protect you. Keep that in mind when your wonderful Democrats suggest you turn in your firearms.

What does he federal government have to do with it? You want more government overreach?

Congress doesn't even require the military to charge until the objective has been overcome. You get what you vote for.
