They are counting on the support of people who are as yet either unaware that they are targeted by GOP politicy proposals, or people who are in fact going to do well by their proposals.

Much the same as the DNC is counting on their base, so too does the RNC.

The key is convincing the independents to vote for them.

So were I to conduct a poll, I'd be polling ONLY independents.
