White House To Ignore Court Ruling, Keep Handing Out Obamacare Subsidies

The Obama administration will continue handing out Obamacare subsidies to federal exchange customers despite a federal court’s ruling Tuesday that the subsidies are illegal.

A D.C. Court of Appeals panel ruled Tuesday morning that customers in the 36 states that didn’t establish their own exchange and use HealthCare.gov instead cannot be given premium tax credits, according to the text of the Affordable Care Act itself.

But the White House said in response that it will continue handing out the billions of taxpayer dollars in subsidies. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said that while the case continues to be battled out in the courts, the administration will continue to dole out billions in tax credits to federally-run exchange customers.

What a shock. He ignores Congress... Now he ignores the courts. Shall we all start bowing to the King?

He's the worlds worst Constitutional Professor. I bet that was a "no-show" job for him, just like Moochelle's gig at the Univ of Chicago medical Center......He's the King!!!

It will soon be explained here why it doesn't matter what that court ruled.

But that doesn't mean it isn't fucked up. Which it is.

I hate this President and all that he has done and I'm afraid for my country for all that he yet intends to do.
Too narrow a view he is destroying the Democratic party and alienating Hispanics with his ham handed handling of immigration.

You all are messed up.

Another court gave a 3-0 ruling two hours later on the issue.

He is not bound by Teaper Judges in the first case, who will be overturned in the circuit court full court 10-3 or by 11-2.

A few hours later, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the subsidies are legal. Has the Daily Pisser told you that yet?

It's not uncommon for the executive to keep doing what he's doing until a ruling is final, and this one will be heard by the full court, and even then with inconsistent circuit court rulings, the admin will keep doing what it's doing until the issue is finally resolved by the scotus.

Especially since the DC Court did not put an injunction on the subsidies.
