Which Level of Propaganda Do You Prefer?

Low level propaganda consists of sloganeering, which encourages a mindless emotional response.

Intermediate level propaganda consists of misinformation and/or illogical arguments. This appeals to the baser instincts (e.g., envy/resentment) of those with limited intellectual capabilities.

Higher level propaganda consists of demonizing those who disagree with you. This appeals to seemingly intelligent people who are suffering from cognitive dissonance due to unresolved emotional issues.

The highest level of propaganda consists of controlling what information is disseminated to the public. This involves the suppression of contrary opinion by disruption, boycotts and/or deliberate omission in news reporting. This is often done on college campuses and by national special interest groups who use their resources to coerce individuals and businesses through threats of economic retaliation and legal harrassment.

Propaganda has an engine all of it's own. It's nearly impossible to stop a freight train especially when it's gotten up to speed. Additionally, propaganda is, unfortunately, a very real part of human nature. Since the beginning, man has had his own agenda comprised of his beliefs and actions all the while trying to steer his constituents accordingly in justification to substantiate that agenda. It's rather like trying to change the law of physics.

I prefer that which causes the rubes the harshest pain of all: the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.

The truth is non-partisan, but is frequently mistaken for a liberal thing around here.
