I've been waiting for the recession the panicked libs have been predicting to hit for 20 years now. And it still hasn't come!

"The Commerce Department reported that February personal income rose 0.5 percent, exceeding a forecast of a 0.3 percent gain made by analysts polled before the report.

......

"The department said personal spending increased 0.1 percent in February, in line with expectations, after a 0.4 percent gain in January."

Don't come into a sub-forum you don't have knowledge in, and say stupid ass shit like that. It makes you look dumb to all the people you're trying to impress.

There have been 3 major recessions in those 20 years you mention. Recessions are a normal part of economic function. They clear out the mistakes, and the ups and downs of the typical business cycle. They can be a natural occurance derived from within the market, or they can be CAUSED, as many have been in this country, by irresponsible fiscal and overall monetary policy, namely the Federal Reserve.

We're in the 4th one now. If you don't notice it, then maybe you better see if you can get someone to pick that rock up and you can come on out and join the rest of us in THE REAL WORLD.

Too funny - let me give my biased appraisal of why the recession is less serious than Allie thinks it should be: liberals. You know those bad people who created the Fed and other regulatory institutions to control that wacky so-called free market.

"The recession is a wake up call. Americans need to confront some false gods--free trade, gas guzzlers and Wall Street."

How do you know the recession has not come? We don't know if we are in a recession until well after it has started and maybe even ended.

Personal spending of +0.1% is on the very edge of a recession, and may indicate we are in a recession.

The stock market has fallen 20%. 80% of the time when the market falls that far, it indicates the economy has entered a recession.
