When people perpetuate stereotyping..

Over 500+ parents,relatives including myself were at a school function honoring academic students.
The M.C. asked ALL of us to hold applause etc., until each row was recognized... then we clapped.
Almost ALL of us honored that request .... except 5 times when exuberant parents,etc. when their offspring was name was announced.. a loud disruptive "whooP" came up from these 5 families. One of the five families was white.

So why did this group of people think they have a right to "whoop and holler" and I didn't?

Stereotypes are made of anecdotal events like the above. Nothing racist here simple observation.
As a result wouldn't these "whooper and holler" members recognize this perpetuates a stereotype?
