What ever happened to that America? The one with resolve?
I'd love to know??
Even my 76 year old Mum and Dad have lost resolve over this war. I blame it on the constant pounding of the truth by the MSM.
I think there was a different press back in the 40's..then again look at what Lincoln had to endure?
Funny that you bring up Lincoln. My perspective on the Civil War is that it was between Democrats and Republicans. We have the same situation here.
Absolutely!! Secession was secondary to politics...If you look at some of the press clippings of the day, they were horrendous to Lincoln..
That's why I've said before, that a second civil war would be good for America, in the long run.
Actually, the Civil War was fought based on the desires of wealthy, Northern idustrialists and wealthy, Southern planters who controlled the Northern and Southern politicians, respectively.
The Republican party was a third party, and Lincoln won with less than 50% of the vote.
