Lol.... Yeah.... Well the point of the video was to demonstrate that those things can be done safely if the proper procedures are followed. Other ventures have gone 3 times the depth successfully. I think he was trying to be kind about it but he subtly indicated that the passengers were not properly informed. I tend to agree.

I figure he'd been doing it long enough that he knew what corners could be cut--or so he thought. Common problem for arrogant people who forget that those tests are to discover hidden flaws.

Yep.... He probably didn't want to pay for the NDT...
The fellow in the video mentioned that the price of admission should have been one million s piece....enough to cover the NDT and still make a profit with the needed repairs or declare the vehicle retired. He may have suspected that it would be
Condemned or derated so possibly he chose to avoid it.
