I might go see it tomorrow. It seemed a little corny to me at first, but a few people have told me it's really great.

Saw it with Mrs. Joyce over T-giving... it's not bad. Mr. Phoenix does all the singing himself, and it's credible. He's well-cast. I thought Reese Witherspoon wasn't going to work as June Carter, but she does OK. The problem with a movie about Johnny Cash is that his life really wasn't all that interesting. In the movie it's admitted: he never actually did hard time.

We saw this movie over the Thanksgiving weekend with some family members, and we all really enjoyed it. We learned some things about Johnny Cash and June Carter that we did not know before. Joachim Phoenix does a phenomenal job portraying Johnny Cash; and like someone else mentioned, both he and Reese Witherspoon do their own singing in the film. If you like the "rags to riches" stories, you will like this movie.
