It boggles my mind that even the Obama supporters on this forum don't even understand what Obama was saying. I can only guess that none of them watched the actual video and only saw the clips of what he said spliced and diced and editorialized by the liberal press.
He said that if people making under $250,000 got a tax cut they would spend the money, thereby spreading the wealth around and enabling them to hire plumbers like Joe.
I'm not sure which Obama supporters don't understand it but bascially that's what I was saying a few days ago.
I think the problem Joe the Plumber is having is that his entire premise was based on a fabrication, a lie, and myth. He isn't a licensed plumber, he's not about to buy his bosses business and even IF he were that business only nets about $100K per year, which would mean that Joe and his "business" would get a tax break under Obama's plan. Joe went into this situation attempting to make it appear that Obama was trying to fuck him with his tax plan and that's a lie.
Joe's business would have to be pretty damn successful...probably the MOST successful plumbing business ever in the history of small plumbing businesses for Obama's tax plan to effect him. He'd have to net a profit of $250K AFTER payroll, insurance, and ALL other operating expenses such as vehicles, equipment and misc things necessary to run a small business. meaning he'd need to gross at least 450K a year or more being a small local plumber. yeah right!
Joe is willing to vote against his own self-interest and that's fine. But he put himself in that line asked a question that he KNEW wasn't factual and then McCain used him as a tool to push the "Obama is going to tax everyone" agenda.
I'm not sure why pointing out the flaws in this situation is viewed as attacking anyone. The truth is the truth... and the facts speak for themselves.
