Turkey plans to send troops to Syria but to fight the Kurds - not Isis, according to reports by local press.

Several news outlets in Turkey have reported that the country’spresident and prime minister have decided to send Turkish troops to Syria. According to the Daily Beast, both the pro-government media outlet Yeni Safak and the anti-government newspaper Sozcu report that up to 18,000 soldiers are to be deployed.

This was predictable. The Kurdish YPG is labeled as a terrorist group by Turkey and the U.S. In their minds.. the Turks can't allow the YPG to create a state just across the Turkish border linked to the Iraqi Kurds. It is a crazy situation.

Erdogan is isolating Turkey within the Nato. erdogan uses Al-Nusra against Syria, this is tolerated by the West but will the West tolerate an intervention in the favor of ISIS?

Maybe you can tell us why Turkey didn't send these troops in earlier to fight ISIS instead of allowing ISIS to go back and forth across its border?

Now it looks like a moot issue.
