Those shops are mostly owned by national partners. They make French fries and Hamburgers.They were the power. Millions of people. 1-3 million in the capital. All roads lead to Rome.Rome, as powerful as it was, didn't approach anywhere NEAR the absolute dominance of the known world as the U.S. could exhibit right now if called to.100 years. Ridiculous. If you want to compete with Rome, you need at least 1000 years. But your empire as already falling apart. Decadency and the costly grip on the world - like back then in Rome - are about to end this hegemony.We claimed more than victory. We claimed the direction of the world for the next 100 years. Or even longer. They will talk about this period as the Pax Americana.
And 99% of cities have a McDonalds.
Owning territory isn't the only way of having influence over it.
