So what you are trying to say here is because somebody calls themselves a professional pollster, their opinion is right and nobody else's opinion is?
.....................................................................................Untrustworthy. How? .........
Incompetent in his Covid response. How?
Ah, RFCleveland, it seems I am not being clear here.
But before we get to the circuit-board stuff of pollsters......lemme address your rhetorical query, to wit, "...their opinion is right and nobody else's is?"
Let's agree, if we can, that there is a difference in the quality of opinions. What I call an informed opinion vs, uninformed, or only marginally informed. For example, the opinion of a heart surgeon for work on your heart is likely better informed than the opinion on the same issue by your car mechanic. Or so it seems to me.
......................................
But that's not really the issue with Tony Fabrizio. The 'quality' of the opinion isn't as much as stake as very little of Fabrizio's work would be his 'opinion'.
Rather, it is his company's and team's research (please, help yourself on this subject by reading the 27-page report in the link). Fabrizio and professionals like him utilize interviews.....many many interviews.....to determine the thought process and the decision making of the people they want to know about, e.g., people who voted.
So what Fabizio reported to Don Trump and Don Trump's staffers is what people who were interviewed, polled, and sampled. indicated to them. Of course, and I know you know this, but all of those data points are sifted, stratified, targeted, and selected by a whole assortment of demographic filters that professional pollsters and those who hire them have deemed important enough that they want to know what those voters are thinking. Hence, they focus on 'seniors'....... or they focus on 'white people', or 'black people' or 'college educated', and so on and so on.
And they ask "why".
Why did you vote for Trump?
Why did you vote for Biden?
Why did you NOT vote for Trump?
etc., etc.,
And what all those data points (those interviews) revealed was that:
A larger portion of the electorate thought Don Trump was untrustworthy.
A larger portion of the electorate thought Don Trump was incompetent vis-a-vis Covid.
That is NOT my opinion solely.
Nor is it Tony Fabrizio's.
It is the dominant opinion of the people interviewed as to why they did not vote for Don Trump.
Go ahead, Ray from Cleveland, read the 27-page report. It is in the link up above.
