Zoom Bing (yesterday) posted an excellent treatise on information mgt. and the dissemination of such and the vagaries involved as it applies to the OBL situation, and owe Maddow even more props it appears.

They have botched or are perilously close to losing the “after war” , the pres. called the play, the seals did their thing, from the minute they flew away from that compound, its been a series of information management missteps.

Reading the below snippet, this has become almost farcical….. ...enough already.

Information is power and the ability to craft a message and explain a detailed highly fragile piece of work like this to a global highly sensitive audience goes a long way as to how that is received and sits with people, their take away is massaged by the after brief, it speaks or not to the overall competence as it pertains to the whole situation. Its helps craft the legitimacy of the event LIKE IT OR NOT and this isn’t political or partisan, it is true for everyone in any context. You cannot give the Beast an inch because he’ll take it, and they are given them fodder.

As much as I have given credit to Obama for a virtuoso performance ala the events over the last year till we got to the kill zone, I have to sadly say, they really have dropped the ball there after, the easiest part of the whole mission...... please get it to together Mr. President , now would be a good time.

Osama bin Laden dead: Blackout during raid on bin Laden compound

The head of the CIA admitted yesterday that there was no live video footage of the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound as further doubts emerged about the US version of events.

Leon Panetta, director of the CIA, revealed there was a 25 minute blackout during which the live feed from cameras mounted on the helmets of the US special forces was cut off.
A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound.

In an interview with PBS, Mr Panetta said: "Once those teams went into the compound I can tell you that there was a time period of almost 20 or 25 minutes where we really didn't know just exactly what was going on. And there were some very tense moments as we were waiting for information.

"We had some observation of the approach there, but we did not have direct flow of information as to the actual conduct of the operation itself as they were going through the compound."

Mr Panetta also told the network that the US Navy Seals made the final decision to kill bin Laden rather than the president.

A combined intelligence/military operation yesterday in Pakistan resulted in the death of international terrorist leader Usama bin Laden.

That's about all I would have said about the incident. And if anyone didn't believe it or want proof, tough luck. You don't want to believe us, fine, so what? We know he's dead and that's that. On to the next dirt bag.
