Regardless of the intent, Republicans always find a way to veto bills that would enforce the Constitution. The excuses they offer vary, but they always come down on the side of liberalism. Governor Mary Fallin’s veto is drenched in the blood of dead babies. I cannot help wondering if she actually vetoed the bill to protect Planned Parenthood’s baby-parts business:

When Fallin vetoed the legislation, her office argued that the bill wouldn’t withstand a criminal constitutional legal challenge.

“The bill is so ambiguous and so vague that doctors cannot be certain what medical circumstances would be considered ‘necessary to preserve the life of the mother,'” Fallin said, in a statement from her office to Reuters.

Republican governor Jan Brewer's vetoes were direct assaults on the 1st, the 8th, the 13th, and the 2nd Amendments:

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have allowed businesses that asserted their religious beliefs the right to deny service to gay and lesbian customers.​
