The race-baiting industry seems to be one of the few manufacturing industries growing in America anymore. Everyone from Barack Obama to Trayvons mom seem to be scurrying around trying to cash in on the young mans demise.
If we used the word sick to describe this behavior, it would be one of the worlds great understatements.
Why does this still work so well?
America declared its independence from Britain in 1776. Slavery was legal in the new republic from that date until 1865, when it was ended by the 13th Amendment (following the Civil War). The elapsed time was 89 years; roughly 5 generations of 18-year-olds.
The slave trade (selling slaves) was ended much earlier: 1807 in Britain and America. Thats 205 years, or 11 generations ago.
Slavery has been illegal in America from 1865 to the present, or 147 years. Thats roughly eight generations of 18-year-olds. Thats three more generations than those who lived under slavery.
Affirmative action (Title VII) began in earnest in America in 1965, a span of 47 years until today, or roughly two-and-a-half generations.
So slavery has been illegal in America for 147 years, or eight generations of 18-year-olds. Special hiring and schooling advantages have been in place for 47 years, or two-and-a-half generations.
Meanwhile, back in the rest of the world, the slave trade is alive and well. As many as 20 million people are still in slavery, and 200,000 African children are sold into slavery each year. That doesnt count those serving the tourist sex-slave trade.
Race-baiting: Only healthy industry in U.S.
