Not surprising, but methinks this will lead to some changes in Iowa at least. If they were angry enough to show up, just wait:

BREAKING NEWS: Hundreds of Iowans thrown out of public hearing

By JASON CLAYWORTH

More than 500 people who are upset with a plan to change Iowa's tax laws were cleared from a hearing tonight at the Iowa House after they interrupted multiple times.

House Speaker Pat Murphy, D-Dubuque, cleared the crowd at about 8:30 p.m. The decision brought about loud protests as the crowd was escorted from the chambers by Iowa State Patrol officers.

“This is the most atrocious thing I’ve seen in the history of the 15 years I’ve been a lobbyist. Pat Murphy has acted like a jack-booted Nazi,” said Ed Failor Jr., president of Iowans for Tax Relief, a conservative taxpayers’ rights group from Muscatine with 50,000 members..

Failor Jr. was escorted from the House chambers after Murphy overheard him speak with the media.

House rules say that no protesting or advocating can be done in the House.

Murphy said he should have ordered the chambers cleared much sooner than he did, since several of the speakers were booed.

“The idea behind the public hearing is to give people public input and allow people the ability to speak for and against the bill. This is not an athletic event,” Murphy said....

Obama is leading by example and apparently the Iowa powers are learning.

One of two things are going to happen, the people are going to stand up and be heard or they will lie down and let the steamroller roll. I'm hoping for the first, but assuming the later.

Let's hope everyone gets the message that most of us got a long time ago. that fucking politicians do not give a shit about the people they supposedly represent. All they care about is entrenching their own power and the continuation of their increasing roles in the ever expanding government.

time to clean house folks kick ALL of them out on their fucking asses, petition to have all their perks revoked, their pay cut, their benefits brought more in line with the average person. make them have to work for a fucking living like the rest of us.

Exactly, the electorate would have to become educated on what's happening and react. There's some signs of life, but needs to become more organized.

Two things matter two them. Bringing in the cash for running the next campaign, and who pulls what lever on election days. The first determines the second.

Street theater at the state house doesn't matter. The elections matter. All these electoral reforms over the last 40 years mean that no one can really challenge them.

It's a shamocracy, folks.

Happy to see that our conservative chums are finally waking up to it.

They seemed quite happy with it when Bush II was in charge though.

Just as many self proclaimed liberals seen satisfied with it now tht Obama is in charge.

Folks it doesn't matter which party is in charge all that much, the sham continues.

I was thrown out of a public hearing once for being disruptive. IMO, it was a fault of MINE, and not the ones that threw me out.

Total rightwingbullshit. Obama has held open meetings and not filtered the participants like they did in the past.

Where did he close out a meeting and throw people out?

Blame Obama for a local fuck up, fukup.

Once again your failure to read, much less comprehend makes a fool out of you.

The "Nazi" regime here in Iowa is nothing new. When a person goes into a county courthouse here and is threaten with arrest for merely asking to report a break-in on an item worth near a hundred thousand dollars that was stolen, and not a soul will step up to help the victim what does that tell you?

When the law enforcement people are the criminals and the connected people can acess their help to steal from you and then tell you they are "exempt", there is no freedom.

When a private citizens who own and operate legitimate productive businesses can be threaten, stripped and plucked of all means of self support such as we were based on "Special" treatment within the Iowa Code or any law no one is safe.

This is where this country is headed and it has been on that road for a long time and the people have been allowing and assisting it. The facist now own and operate our government throughout. Here in Iowa the majority of them happen to be Democrats.
