He's doubled and in some cases tripled down on Bushs' Policies...while chastising Bush in the process.

President Obama has proven to be a politician capable of most any lie. I'm still glad he is president and not McCain.

He pushed for and stood behind the healthcare legislation which is a big win for him. We will have to wait to see how that plays out in the long run, but the fact is that even if you don't like it, it is a step in the right direction and we can make changes to any parts of it that are not working. Next, he got us out of Iraq. Bush had plans to do this, but Obama actually did it. Overall, he hasn't changed much though. Up til now he has supported the extension of the Bush tax cuts and even added a few of his own. In many ways, he's acted like a Republican, yet the Republicans continue to try to convince us that he is a flaming liberal, possibly the most liberal ever. It's a riot.

Ideologies? What ideologies? Both parties are totally occupied with getting power and keeping it. Where is the difference? Didn't the Democrats vote with the Republicans for the illegal invasion of Iraq against the wishes of the majority? Where are these profound differences?
When I lived in Maine long ago, we had two excellent Senators, Cohen and Mitchell. They worked well together and even wrote a book together. They served in subsequent administrations. One was a Democrat, one a Republican. There was no ideological problem between them.
The problem is not honorable men such as they. The problem is the political hacks that dominate both parties.
It is past time for a change.
