This Day can only be celebrated by a very select few. You can not buy your way in or be given it. The only way in is to earn it.
 
I used to enjoy annoying Marines by telling them "Remember, you work for us." And then pointing to their their paychecks (back when there were paychecks) that said "US Navy" on them.

It isn't mandatory by any means but most former Marines celebrate November 10th as their personal 2nd birthday. The Army has become too complex to celebrate something as mundane as a birthday and ditto the Navy. The USAF was born in 1947. Marine Corps Order #47 signed by General John Lejeune, Commandant of the Marine Corps in 1921 authorized Marines to celebrate November 10th as their birthday. Semper Fi

Yes, we know we are part of the Department of the Navy, the MENs DEPARTMENT!

We haven't forgotten the Navy Corpsmen who served in Combat with us.
