    to this day, I remember how totally stricken I felt when I went to the high school library before classes started and read on the front page of the morning newspaper that Otis had died in a plane crash...

    the whole thing's fulla wonderful pics... they look as fresh as if the event had occurred last summer...


    but it was, wow, 45 years ago...

    and if that gal was 25 years old at the time, then, yeah, she'd be 70 now...

    the whole passage-of-time thing blows my mind...
