Most get their news, and perspective, not from study, but from the media. Two problems with this approach: most journalists are Left-leaning, and most journalists are none too bright. Essentially, pop culture is the blind leading the blind. So, early on, ‘communism’ received a boost for both above reasons.

1. A year and a half after WWII began in Europe, Roosevelt’s Lend-Lease supplied a prodigious amount of war materiel to Russia, without which the embattled Red Army, the only challenge to Hitler’s forces, would have been defeated. The temporary congruence of interests was called an alliance, albeit a strange one. For example, when the Americans tried to find a way that long-range American bombers could land in Russia to re-fuel, so as to bomb deep into Germany, the Russians were found to be suspicious, ungrateful, secretive, xenophobic, unfriendly, in short….a great deal of take and very little give.
John V. Fleming, “The Anti-Communist Manifestos”

2. While American presence in Russia was modest and equivocal, Russian presence in wartime America was so large that they had to set up a corporate headquarters on Sixteenth Street in Washington. One of the executives in th huge staff was Victor Kravchenko, metallurgist, engineer, executive, and captain in the Red Army. And the first Soviet “defector.” Ibid.

3. ‘Moreover, it is obvious that a penetration so complete would have been impossible if the Communists had not been able to depend on the blindness or indifference of many of the far larger number of ordinary liberals who dominated the Roosevelt Administration. As early as the late 1930s, even known Communists in government were often regarded by their colleagues as merely "liberals in a hurry." And during the war, of course, they could be excused as simply enthusiasts for America's doughty ally, "good old Joe." Small wonder, then, that liberals, after the onset of the Cold War with the Soviet Union in 1946, dreaded so profoundly the disclosure of the appalling degree of governmental penetration that they now began to suspect the Communists had achieved on their watch in the 1930s and the first half of the 1940s.’
The Claremont Institute - A Closer Look Under The Bed

4. Fifty years of liberal propaganda people to thinking of Communist Party member as lovable idealists and the urge to fire them from their government jobs as an irrational anachronistic prejudice. Allowing card-carrying members of the Communist Party to handle classified material after the Alger Hiss case would be like encouraging al-Qaeda members to carry box cutters on airplanes after 9-11.
Coulter, “Treason”

5. The progressive left, and the liberal left, while not themselves communists, share many of the same sympathies, such of redistribution of wealth, and worker’s rights, nationalizations of industry, etc, but are not quite as far left as the communists, and would not go to the same lengths as the communists to achieve their goals. This does not mean, though, that the help of these dupes is not necessary in order for the communists to achieve victory. Even at their peak, in the ‘30’s, the Communist Party of the United States never had more than 100 thousand members: so deception of the ‘dupes’ was critical.

a. The archives tell a tale of plans and schemes between the CPUSA and the Communist International in Moscow, to dupe progressives and liberals: “go to rallies,” “don’t let them know you are a communist!,” “If anyone reveals that you are a communist, claim it is red-baiting,” “yell ‘McCarthyism!”
Dr. Paul Kangor, “DUPES: How America's Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century”

6. Cultivated blindness. It is the explanation for Communist infiltration into government, media, education. Cultivated blindness explains how a rapist will have the second most prominent speaking position at the Democrat Convention. Cultivated blindness explains how a radical Leftist has become President of the United States.

7. On April 1, 1944, Victor Kravchenko left Washington for New York, where, at a press conference arranged by the NYTimes, he revealed the truth about the Soviet Union. Two years later he published “I Chose Freedom,” which played a crucial role in the formation of public opinion in the formation of the incipient Cold War.

a. The front-page article that began, "Accusing the Soviet Government of a 'double-faced' foreign policy with respect to its professed desire for collaboration wieth the United States and Great Britain and denouncing the Stalin regime for failure to grant political and civil liberties to the Russian people, Victor A. Kravchenko….”
Fleming, Op.Cit.[ p. 182-183]

b. Both in Europe, and in the United States, communist supporters engaged in a ‘full court press’ trying to deny reports about communism and the Soviet Union. Defectors like Kravchenko faced the same sort of barrage that McCarthy did later…and for the same reasons.

There was, and is, no limit to which the Left will not go to smear...and even kill....enemies of 'the cause.'

An example...tomorrow.

Just one question:

WHERE DID YOU SEE "COMMUNISM"???????!!!!!!!!!!!

1. "Left" refers to the values associated with the Western welfare state, secularism and the vast array of attitudes and positions identified as Left from Karl Marx to contemporary socialist democrat parties and today’s Democratic Party in the United States. [The Left-wing ‘trinity’= race, gender, class.]

2. Every Leftist is, essentially, a Marxist, i.e., a communist…even though most eschew the title since the fall of the Soviet Union. Even so, Left-wing ideas are predicated on Marx’s materialist view. Philosophically, the term implies that only material things are real.

a. While the Judeo-Christian society labels actions as ‘good’ or ‘evil,’ due to morality and/or self-control, the Left sees the results as due to material inequality, i.e., violent crime due to poverty.

b. The Left has been far more interested in fighting material inequality than tyranny, which is why Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, Castro, etc., tend to have the support of Leftists around the world.

c. The Left is less interested in creating wealth than in distributing it.
From Dennis Prager's "Still The Best Hope."

But, now that you bring it up....I might be open to producing an OP explaining the relationship between every totalitarian philosophy.

You down with that....?

Be aware...there may be a short quiz afterwards.

I rectum so.

Please tell me, drop-draws- even if it's a fib- that you realized that the juxtaposition of this post- with that avi...

Your secret is safe with me!

1. "Left" refers to the values associated with the Western welfare state, secularism and the vast array of attitudes ...........
The Left has been far more interested ...........
The Left is less interested .............

2. Every Leftist is, essentially, a Marxist, i.e., a communist…......

3. While the Judeo-Christian society .........

4. every totalitarian philosophy.

.

1. A notion of "left" is VERY subjective. What some in US consider "left"; others outside of US may consider "right"...

2. a) "leftist" see p.1; b) "Marxist" is a “dialectical view of social change” (Wiki). Communism is just one of many interpretations of Marxism. Trotsky and Stalin were Marxists, but their view of Marxism was not the same; in fact, the ideas of Trotsky were close to ideology of Bernard Henri Levy and Gramsci -- an ideology on which modern politically-correct Western societies stand! And Levy supported Pol Pot!

You should know things like that if you want to discuss the topic! Without this elemental knowledge you sound just like criticised by you "most" who "get their news, and perspective, not from study, but from the media".

3. What in the name of everything holly is that?!

4. again, before discussing "totalitarian philosophy" you need to give definition of it!

So....are you saying you'd like me to OP an explanation of why every 'Every Leftist is, essentially, a Marxist, i.e., a communist'?

I'll get right to work on it.

You might want to consider the opposite....those not considered Leftist endorse a view based on individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.

Gettin' the picture?

I already explained that "leftist" is a subjective notion; that "Marxism" is a “dialectical view of social change”; that communism is only one of many interpretations of Marxism...

Can't you read?

I want you to give a definition of "totalitarian philosophy". Can you do that?

Oh, my....getting upset?

What did it, this?

Why this "baby talk"? I am not getting upset, I am asking you if you can read because, despite me explaining the matter, you respond with "would you like me to explain...?"

No, I won't. I ALREADY did so.

But I am asking you to define "totalitarian philosophy".

And this is why many libs and dems have no idea WTF is going on. They get all their news from the lib MSM.

We conservatives/libertarians have had to endure a lifetime of liberal BS, but thanks to a revolution in the news business, we have sources not contaminated by libs. So, we know whats going on.

For example, Libs really do believe the GOP Wants "Dirtier Air, Dirtier Water, Less People With Health Insurance." They are so easily duped...and their leaders know it.

There was a study that asked a bunch of libs and cons what the other thought on issues. The cons knew exactly how the libs thought on issues. The libs had no clue what cons thought.
