The Fight To End Woke School Lunches Continues

GOP state legislator opposed to free school lunch proposal says he's never met a hungry Minnesotan

But the measure's Democratic author says almost 1 in 6 Minnesota children don’t know when and where their next meals will be available — if at all.

"A Republican state senator in Minnesota said Tuesday he was voting against a bill to provide free breakfast and lunch for school students in part because he'd never encountered anyone in the state who was hungry. “I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry,” Sen. Steve Drazkowski said in remarks on the floor of the State Capitol in St. Paul before voting on the legislation. "Now, I should say that hunger is a relative term," added Drazkowski, 58. "I had a cereal bar for breakfast. I guess I'm hungry now."

The measure passed by a vote of 38-26 and is expected to be signed into law by Gov. Tim Walz. Drazkowski called the bill "pure socialism," adding, "This is about the government dictating to kids what they're going to eat and how much they’re going to eat."


And he is right....school lunch is socialism..and the government is basically dictating to children what they should eat and how much...This has been a long hard fight, but I think more Republicans need to at least put an end to woke school lunches with the same energy they fight every other woke-left program....campaign on it more, it is a popular issue with the majority of voters.....


These kids are not hungry...they are just moochers who want all of that woke socialist cafeteria food...I am proud that I didn't go to a school who had woke cafeteria food in it. Who even started this school lunch crap anyway? The money we are spending on feeding kids is wasted......socialist government waste....that money can go towards buying school supplies, equipment, books -- you know all of those other things that Conservatives rightfully oppose and vote against..if a kid's parents are too lazy to fix his lunch or if that kid is too poor to bring a lunch or go without -- maybe he doesn't need to be in school, maybe he needs to be on a job and earning his keep..instead of begging for woke school lunches and handouts...next these kids are going expect that the government provides them with transportation to and from school....when does it end?

Just to ring up. The Great Society started in the mid 1960's. It was supposed to end poverty and hunger. And we still have it now with the added ugly reality that if the money and benefits stop, there is going to be hell to pay. It is not too much to expect efficient results for all the money tapped for it.
