I can only presume from your O/P that you are Libertarian.

I have known only person who was libertarian but that was several decades ago. I have no idea what it means.

So I googled it and found this platform list -- see link below.

I will therefore discuss each plank.

1.1 - everyone owns their own body.

So should all narcotic drugs and hallucinogens be legal then too? What about the social issue of addiction?

1.2 - freedom of speech and religion.

What about yelling fire in a crowded theatre? What about letting your children play with venomous snakes?

1.3 - privacy.

Do you also interpret Roe v. Wade as a valid right to privacy? Just wondering.

1.4 - personal relationships.

Looks like you support gay marriage too. Do you agree that the 14th Amendment ensures this?

1.5 - abortion.

Looks like the abortion view is consistent with the owning your own body view.

1.6 - parental rights but not child abuse nor neglect. Fair enough.

1.7 - crime and punishment & death penalty (1.8)
So you oppose the death penalty? That seems inconsistent with the punishment matching the crime.

If someone kills it is intuitively obvious that they should be strapped to a gurney and have their organs harvested in order to save others who are dying in order to make up for the murder. The Chinese do this.

Looks like Libertarians have not thought this thru too well.

1.9 Self defense & right to carry.

This makes perfect sense -- and Arizona, Vermont, and several other states have finally come around and agree.

Ok the list goes on and on. Some of it is a-priori such as self defense.

Some of it like anti death penalty makes no sense at all.

The only bad thing about a death penalty is when they convict the wrong person.

So there need to be special rules for that possibility.

I believe I will stick to being a Nonpartisan/Independent.

Libertarianism does NOT convince me.

Underwear keeps your trousers clean and helps prevent bladder, vagina, and anus infections.

You need to change underwear every day if possible.

Underwear is definitely good.

Women who wear dresses and not pants don't need to wear underwear though.

So if you are male then underwear is indispensable.

If you are female then as long as you don't wear pants you don't need underwear.

Underwear is really a pant/trouser liner. For that it is necessary.

I disagree too much with the Libertarians to call myself one. I most certainly lean right, however, I find Republicans to be so dumb it hurts sometimes. To address the platform you listed I will go one by one and explain.

Yes, I believe everyone's body is their own to do what they like. I do believe that we should end the war on drugs as it has obviously been a failure.

1.2
Freedom of speech should be allowed until it threatens to take away somebody else's liberties and rights away from them. Yelling fire in a crowded theater directly endangers people's right to life and should not be allowed.

1.3
I struggle with abortion more than any topic in the world.

1.4
I don't care what people do in their bedrooms. Gay marriage should have been a none issue. I believe the 14th amendment protects this as well.

1.5
I've always struggled with this question more than anything. When do we decide that the fetus has rights? Life begins at conception but does that mean the fetus has rights? Also, what about that woman's rights as well? I find abortion to be terrible and I would never respect anyone who had one, however, I don't feel obliged to take that right away from you. I could talk for hours about abortion but it's never crystal clear to me what my stance on it is.

I personally agree with the death penalty. Defining the proper judgment for people's crime under due process of the law is only just. However, there could be a deep philosophical question of "is this right?" Do two rights make a wrong? How can we know for sure that this person committed the crime. Who is allowed to bring justice upon this person? It's really something to chew on.
