The compassionate GOP

Yep, if its a UN "treaty" it must be good for the United States.............

European socialists and third world dictators know whats best for us....

Yes republicans are all for right to life as long as long do not have to support that life. Why bother with the handy capped that are a big percentage of our military vets when you can throw them under the bus fro free.

Are you bothering to read anything anyone says? We already have one of the most comprehensive support systems for the disabled. Why do you think that being handicap makes one unable to do anything? Why do you think they should be registered with the government? What purpose does that have? Why should we have the UN regulating and enforcing laws when we can't hold them accountable?

And we support life throughout life. Stop lying to yourself to justify killing babies.

We already have disability laws within our sovereign nation.. why give any power over our sovereign nation to the UN?? There is nothing to be gained except a way to bow to the UN

Yep, gonna have to go with this one.

You could not be more wrong on this.

How did rws get to be so cruel and stupid? Why would they think this has something to do with sovereignty or giving away power?

Watched Robert and Elizabeth Dole as well as several veterans in wheelchairs, on the floor of congress, begging for them to vote in favor but, if there's one thing the GObP/pubpots hate and despise its anyone in a wheelchair.

Of all the shit you rw's pour out here every day, the one thing I cannot understand or forgive is your ongoing hatred for our vets. Especially those who came home in wheelchairs.

Because we tend to actually read what is in laws rather than just passing it because of bill/treaty's name.

So, what were the Republican objections? Why do they have a problem with this? Anyone?

Countless reasons:

1) We already have laws protecting the rights of the disabled
2) We don't need to outsource our sovereignty to the UN. We certainly dont need the UN, which is completely unaccountable to the voters, enforcing any laws.
3) We definitely done need the government/governments collecting names of the disabled from birth. That's how the exterminations in Germany began. Let's avoid that slippery slope.
4) We don't need to turn our "parents know best" policies to "government knows best" policies.

There are other problems as well.

This is very typical of the ignorant rw. First, he has a strong opinion, says he knows what he's talking about.

But then, the truth comes out with this.

Then what is the point? Why waste our time making a non-binding agreement law?

He has no clue. This is typical of so many of you.

All you know is that you're against helping anyone who has it harder or worse than you do. You want the elderly and children off food stamps but you wouldn't consider adopting a child you want to see forced to be born.

Disabled vets? Fuck em, right, rw's ?

Why don't you bother to EDUCATE yourselves before you make a decision? You know, like ACA. If you had a fucking clue, you would stop posting stupid shit about it every day.

gawd damn idiots, you actually take pride in being ignorant.

I do educate myself. Not my fault your ignorant. You make stupid arguments for bad law, and then when you cant argue on the merits try to argue that it doesn't matter because it's non-binding. So why are you bothering to support laws that have no application? You can't answer that. Instead you just dodge the question.

It's either binding and it means something, which means you should argue the merits. Which you wont. Or it's not, and it's irrelevant, so there is no point in passing it.

Just noticed 'logic and reason' sig line -

"Let Us Take Care of You, by Taxing Someone Else"

This really nails it. They want our vets to go get killed or maimed but don't ask them for a cent to help care for the when they get home.

How do you scum suckers look at yourselves in the mirror?

I think it's insulting that you think so lowly of the troops that you think them so incompetant when they get home that they can't take care of themselves. Do you understand what the troops are fighting for? They are fighting for liberty. You know, their right and our right to take care of ourselves and our responsibilities in any way we can help.

They aren't fighting for the government to take care of them the rest of their life.

Republicans think American helping American is (gasp) "socialism". A short walk to "communism".

Stop lying rdean. We are all for Americans helping Americans. We are opposed to politicians Robbing people to buy votes while claiming to help them and making things worse for them. You know, your policies.

Well, we certainly understand where the heart of the GOP is.

Well, maybe if you could think for yourself, instead of sucking down liberal propaganda spoon fed to you, you would understand that wise nations don't hand over their sovereignty to the UN.

Thank God you dumbocrats have conservatives to save you from yourself, uh?

Republicans think American helping American is (gasp) "socialism". A short walk to "communism".

And here we see rdean's supreme ignorance integrated with his bias.

See, the truth is, Republican's know that American's being forced against their will to "help" others is (gasp!) actual "communism".

Republican's also know that while you talk about "help", what you actually mean is gaining control of the masses through the government (because you're all equal parts scared and power hungry). We know this because the idiot liberal dumbocrat can "help" people any time they want but choose not to. Instead, they piss on those in need and funnel money to government, which funnels it back to them through pork and waste.

Oh and btw, the treaty is binding. At least according to John Kerry:

Kerry, who has been vocal in his support of the treaty, responded to Lee’s charge that, if ratifying the treaty does “nothing” and is non-binding, why bother voting for it?

“I said it does not change U.S. law; that is different from saying it doesn’t do anything. If it didn’t do anything I wouldn’t be here, nor would President Bush have signed it,” he said, contending that the U.N. measure would benefit Americans living and traveling abroad.

So anyone want to tell us why we need the UN to tell us how to treat the disabled when we already do fine without them?

Isn't it interesting that rdean has the same view on helping people as Ebeneezer Scrooge did prior to his redemption and change?

Disability Treaty Downed By Republican Opposition

WASHINGTON -- Led by Republican opposition, the Senate on Tuesday rejected a United Nations treaty on the rights of the disabled that is modeled after the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act.

With 38 Republicans casting "no" votes, the 61-38 vote fell five short of the two-thirds majority needed to ratify a treaty. The vote took place in an unusually solemn atmosphere, with senators sitting at their desks rather than milling around the podium. Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole, looking frail and in a wheelchair, was in the chamber to support the treaty.

The treaty, already signed by 155 nations and ratified by 126 countries, including Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia, states that nations should strive to assure that the disabled enjoy the same rights and fundamental freedoms as their fellow citizens. Republicans objected to taking up a treaty during the lame-duck session of the Congress and warned that the treaty could pose a threat to U.S. national sovereignty.

Well, we certainly understand where the heart of the GOP is.

What we need to understand is where the brains of the 61 idiots that voted for it are.

Who controls the senate? Did the republicans win the senate back?

Takes two thirds to ratify a treaty. I would have thought that you knew that.

Ever wonder why the Constitution says that it takes two thirds of the Senate to ratify a treaty?

I like it. The more of this kinda stuff the better. A steady stream of GOP madness will ensure the public rejects everything they offer all the way to 2014.

So tell us dumbocrats, is this your idea of "compassion"? Because this is the reality you have created in the United States today:

Manufacturers are slashing jobs and inventories ahead of the year-end "fiscal cliff," in a fresh sign Monday the sector will keep teetering amid the ongoing policy uncertainty.

The Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing index fell to a three-year low of 49.5 in November from 51.7 in October, a surprise return to below the neutral 50 level after two months of expansion.

How is it madness to reject laws and treaties that will not improve matters in order to pretend you care? Wouldn't actually caring for people be better?

Notice how huggy ignored your valid point in favor of discussin font sizes? The dumbocrats 3-step simple minded procedures for spreading marxism is comical.

Step 1. Spread dumbocrat propaganda

Step 2. When backed into a corner with facts, change the subject

Step 3. If step 2 fails, scream "racism" and run

You would think with all the Bush tax cuts, oh wait. Did I say "think"? Never mind. We've already lost the Republicans.

Well, don't worry. If you keep trying, then someday you will think as fast as we do.

You would think with all the Bush tax cuts, oh wait. Did I say "think"? Never mind. We've already lost the Republicans.

The Pubes have already gone off a cliff. They did it last summer. The strange and funny part is that they jumped minus a parachute in a desperate effort to show how loyal they are to the "Grover" and the only meaningful to them oath they have taken as representatives not to the vast majority of Americans but to the top 2% who ddo not even respect them and need them the least.

All of this negativity from morons like "puppy boi" is about ensuring that the rich keep getting richer at the expense of all other members of our society.

This LOOMING fiscal cliff is nonsense. It is completely contrived. There are no deadlines. there is just the built in republican self made roadside economic bomb. These people are economic terrorists. They planted a bomb and are now attempting to steer our path into it.

All this to hold our country hostage AGAIN to save the rich a measely 3.9% tax increase.

Astounding.

Astonishing.

We are not as stupid as you would hope "puppy boi".

The American voter had the right question to vote on this time and you lost in a landslide.

Obama made the choice clear. Fuck your "fiscal cliff". The party is over. You can pay as you leave. Thanks for coming.

No one believes Republicans are compassionate.

No one believes tax cuts for billionaires creates jobs.

Ya think?

The nutter rw's believe what they're told to believe and fux tells them that billionaires create jobs. Even though there is no evidence of that and even though they have not yet created jobs, I think the nutters will just go right on believing what fux tells them to believe.
All the while you idiots believe the lies from the idiots in charge who are puppets and whores for socialists.

Yea, socialists like, uh, well, uh, who are these "socialists"?
