Thanks, but you two need to sit down and tell me what you come up with, after you set 'capitalism' and 'socialism' aside.

I wouldn't worry too much about RWA calling you a liberal. Thats his standard term for anyone that can think outside the box and be smarter than that of the right wing ideology.

I did not know universities present liberalism as an intellectually superior point of view.
posted by GopJeffcc, that's the whole point of political debate. Why should people set aside their values in the name of 'getting along' and 'validating each other's points?' Among the many purposes of good debate is to determine solutions to problems.

They don't, well at least not always. It can depend on what school you attend and what professors you get. I attended AU in Ala. and had both liberal and conservative professors throughout my four years. However, the avenger of the right wing does have a point. A lot of bastions of higher ed do have a majority of liberals in their midst. There is a simple reason for this. It seems that most conservatives who earn higher degrees do so to make lots of money. You can make a decent living at a university, but you're not gonna get rich unless you're the football coach. But it seems that more people who are liberal minded would rather continue the noble pursuit of knowledge rather than joining a fast-paced, dod-eat-dog, rat race for big dollars. Because of this, liberals take precedence at most colleges and universities.

rtwng, you are one angry dude. Please (not meant to be condescending) pull up a seat and grab a beer. I'm about to learn something new.

Yes. And they're bitter and seek to destroy a society that values riches, because they themselves are not rich. they think they should just be rewarded with riches for having enlightened opinion. They're bitter elitists who are angry the rest of society does not share their haughty opinion of them. So they have no problem shoving their agenda down their students.
