But Ryan did comment that they were going to avoid the sequester by conducting a "Charm Offensive" on Democrats.

What do you think that meant?

This isn't anti anything. It's about political tactics.

If Lindsay G gets primaried out of office by the South Carolina Republican Party next time he's up to bat, he'll probably do a Charley Crist or Arlen Spector and run for the Senate Office as a Democrat.

And that's probably not going to happen.

Obama played a very good tactical and strategic game here.

Personally, I'm pretty amazed by what a cool character he is..and that he doesn't hold grudges. Either he's a huge fan of Lincoln..or Dragonball Z. Not really sure which..

There's a little more to it than that.

There's been a huge rift between Democrats and Republicans for quite some time. Democrats, who basically favor having the government "work" are much more willing to compromise and capitulate. Republicans? Not so much. They closed the government down under Clinton and impeached him.

Looks like they were looking for the same thing with Obama.

But Obama's been really shrewd and cool headed. Even with all the rebuffs for socializing he kept at it. And that's while being engaged in some very public battles. And, he's been adjusting tactics to meet the challenges of a very obstructionist congress. He's been advocating for policy to the public while holding an olive branch to the very folks that despise him. Then came the sequester..and I basically think many Republicans have seen the writing on the wall. Obama could have went to the trenches..because come 2014..they are pretty much done. But he didn't.

He offered them a way out. That's pretty amazing.

Lets see how it plays out.
