The Benny Hill Show is a British comedy television show that starred Benny Hill and aired in various forms between 19 November 1969 and 16 May 1994 in over 140 countries. The show focused on sketches that were full of slapstick, mime, parody, and double-entendre. The Benny Hill Show features Benny Hill in various short comedy sketches and occasional, extravagant musical performances by artists of the time. Hill appears in many different costumes and portrays a vast array of characters. Slapstick, burlesque and double entendres are his hallmarks. A group of critics accused the show of sexism, and Hill responded by claiming that female characters kept their dignity while the men who chase them were portrayed as buffoons (source of information: Wikipedia).

This comedy show was a precursor to the comedian-approach spotlight programs we enjoy in more recent times such as Seinfeld and Becker. It was also a precursor to the non-censored approach to lifestyle-shocking realism entertainment we've come to appreciate from Alfred Hitchcock films, David Fincher films, and Woody Allen films.

We can evaluate the realism-slapstick of this smut-comedy British TV series to evaluate the kinds of 'lifestyle-exposure' themed programming very popular in this new age of networking-gauged etiquette consciousness (e.g., The Real World, The People's Court, Celebrity Apprentice, RuPaul's Drag Race, etc.).

It seems modern media is invested in legalized 'etiquette pornography.'

So did we elect a 'token-capitalist' as U.S. President (Donald Trump) to see 'consumerism realism' reflected in 'etiquette incendiary' programs such as The Benny Hill Show?

TRUMP: I don't support a Playboy channel on cable TV.
CARTER: There are parental controls on cable boxes now.
TRUMP: Americans care about what kinds of media packages are accessible on the market.
CARTER: If you don't subscribe to the philosophy of a given program, you need not purchase/view it.
TRUMP: This is a caffeine culture and pedestrians may seek the 'conveniences' of federally-supervised TV.
CARTER: Many voters don't care for a union of Church and State.
TRUMP: You get home, you forget to turn on your parental-control switch on your TV, and your kid sees porn.
CARTER: Labor is always tedious, but governments are not custodial services.
TRUMP: No, but FDR suggested they can at least be 'parental guidance' figureheads.
CARTER: That's why there should be 'content-neutral' lifestyle-chatter modern programs such as iCarly.
TRUMP: People can find the idea of a 'supervisory censor' very protective.
CARTER: It's clear then why there are so many modern films about norms --- e.g., Celebrity, Fearless, etc.
TRUMP: I got criticism for being smug and brutally graphic in the media during my presidential campaign.
CARTER: Voters were expecting a media-incendiary candidate with a consumerism background.
TRUMP: I think people will compare me to Abraham Lincoln --- the right man for the right time.
CARTER: There will be anti-Trump Lincoln jokes --- e.g., "Trump delivered his Jerry Springer Address."
