it was worthless, being too small, but the 10 ga/20mm has considerably more potential. The Argentine design had a "firing-pin" down the center of the projectile (which was aluminum) There was a coil spring around the pin. In the front of the grenade was a pistol primer, which was struck by the pin at impact. Around the primer was detonator powder, and the rest of the projectile was full of RDX plastic explosive.

the thing that made the grenades safe to fire and handle was very, very ingenuous. The firing pin was notched, with a solid brass safety pin, also notched, and also with a spring around it. The safety pin had a rounded head, and was mounted at a 90 degree angle to the firing pin. The head of the safety pin protruded thru a hole in the side of the (aluminum) casing of the projectile. The safety pin was said to be 'bore-riding". In other words, it rubbed the inside of the barrel as the projectile was launched. At exit from the muzzle, the spring of the safety pin would launch the safety pin sideways out of the grenade. that that point, the grenade would impact detonate. In other words, if you fired it into the ground at your feet, you'd blow up your leg, and the legs of any of your buddies that were within a few feet of you.
