Food prices are showing greater volatility. Deflation become mere 'happy spells', with prices ratcheting up as cheap food becomes a thing of the past. I don't want to sound too Malthusian, but expect miserable times

You can't understand food prices by restricting the analysis to macroeconomic deflationary concerns. We have to take into account international demand (generating greater volatility) plus specific 'noise' (such as variable biofuel price shocks)
