For me to know and you not to find out.

Without these valuable laws in place, police, firefighters, AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS would strike at will if the municipality doesn't bow to their demands. It was because of the Hatch Act that President Reagan rightfully and within his Constitutional authority, shitcanned each and every one of those ingrates after repeated warnings to the union leadership to get back to work. I'd like to see the same thing within the private sector. Kneecap a union's ability to strike and depend exclusively on binding arbitration and mediation.

You're unconsciously advocating for communism.

You apparently don't understand how capitalism only works well when the ordinary people have a say in the functioning of country's economy.

You're advocating that government be empowered by the ruling class to take it all away from the people.

It's coming!

you apparently dont understand why certain jobs should not be able to strike because of the danger to the public it may cause...

Yep.. I wonder how Leftist scum like Donald H would feel if his firefighters went on strike and an emergency situation developed? I'm quite sure that in the next town over, the local volunteer EMS would show up an hour later.

Capitalism sometimes makes special allowances that are contrary to its principles for essential services.

As a supporter of capitalism, I am opposed to those exceptions and believe that freedom to negotiate, should have been permitted to reach and agreement before the emergency occurred.

For example, negotiations well prior to the expiration of the collective agreement.

Communism fails in that wages and benefits are dictated to the working class by government.

Your point is comrad Stalin?

The General doesn't understand that compulsory or binding arbitration are terms for government dictating to American workers, as opposed to collective bargaining.

Is that what Trump wants for America or does he think that's what Biden wants?

No one really knows what Trump wants, outside of what benefits Trump most. He has no real principles, ideological, moral or otherwise.

you cant strike if it causes the public to be in danger ....everyone of the air traffic guys knew that going in because you have to sign a paper saying you have been told and know the consequences......they still have collective bargaining....you just cant strike....

The people, at least those capable of critical thinking and with a good grasp of the Constitution and principles that undergird it, WANT the Hatch Act and Taylor Law specifically to reduce totalitarian mischief by the government. If the government assumes the right to control the air space and therefore air traffic controllers, for instance, and the private sector is denied ability to do that, then we certainly don't want a bunch of malcontent controllers walking off the job in their own self interest and essentially shutting down most of the economy.

The Constitution intends for the government to work for us and that includes ALL the government, those elected, appointed, and hired. The government should never be able to hold the people hostage in order to benefit itself.

Bargaining is impossible if either party doesn't have the teeth to bargain. I doubt you have any interest in learning.

Try to imagine Jesus telling you that you have to believe in him when the threat of hell doesn't mean anything anymore.
Jesus used to have teeth but as each church is turned into a second hand store or a soup kitchen, he loses more teeth. Hence what used to be a majority of believers has become a bit more than 40%. So much for government making the rules!

China jesus lost all of his teeth when Mao took over, but didn't allow collective bargaining anyway. As with the US south, they can respectfully ask the boss for raises and benefits.

A worker's only teeth to bargain collectively is to withdraw his/her services, when no collective agreement is in force. And the employer also has the right to lock out the workers or to not provide work, when there's no collective agreement. Capitalism works.

Communism works too but not for collective bargaining. Communism fulfills the same need by government interference in the relationship between workers and employers, by stepping in and mandating a fair wage.

The point you people are missing is that when the collective agreement expires, there is no teeth in that signed piece of paper. It becomes null and void, unless the employer can force it on the union through legal action.

What legal grounds would an employer have to apply force? We're not talking about communism now. We could be talking about slave labour in which the worker is obliged to work or be fined or jailed!

Nevertheless, nobody forces anybody to work for the federal government. But those who are on the taxpayers dime are ethically required to work for those taxpayers' and that doesn't include shutting down the economy to better themselves.

And the capitalism that you so despise is responsible for lifting more people out of poverty and producing prosperity for the huge majority who practice it than ANY other system devised by humankind.
