Metzger gives Perry a little too much credit. From the article:

"Governor Perry should win an Olympic medal for taking the environment downhill," said Luke Metzger at Environment Texas. "Global warming is the greatest environmental threat facing Texas and the planet and Governor Perry's obstructionism puts the state at great risk."
Conservative Republicans like Perry have been sounding the alarm of job losses in the debate over regulating greenhouse gas emissions -- a hot-button issue at a time of high joblessness and economic uncertainty.

Texas has an elected Attorney General, independent of the Governor. Now I have no doubt that they conferred and are in agreement, but Greg Abbot is the man who files the suits in the name of the State.

Since the EPA are feds, that could frame this as a states rights issue, I would love to see some control of these agencies who have questionable motives to say the least.

You are right except about Governor Goodhair. He is an empty suit at best, and at worst he salivates over the thought of sitting in the big chair with all it's powers. We need, and can do, better.

You guys don't pay attention very well. The SCOTUS has already ruled that congress has already given the EPA the authority to regulate greenhouse gases. So, EPA can't usurp a roll that congress has already assigned to it.

Yeah, Apparently all the lawyers and politicians involved in this case haven't taken the SCOTUS ruling into account.

I wasn't referring to lawyers nor politicians. I was referring to your description of EPA 'trying to usurp the roll of congress'. Since the SCOTUS has affirmed that congress has already given EPA the authority to regulate greenhouse gases, how then, can EPA be 'trying to usurp the roll of congres'?
