Taxes actually aren't high enough.

It has become the mantra for both sides - reduce taxes!

OK, I'm completely for not having to shill out extra money in the form of taxes, but where in Sam Hill does the money that we reduced with lower taxes now come from?

Well, fees for one. Fees, in the form of higher interstate tolls ... higher MVA charges and FINES.

That's right - in lieu of lower taxes, the police must now write MORE tickets! What's wrong with tickets? You tell me ... you like taking a day off from work in order to defend yourself in court for going 10 miles over the speed limit? Or worse, getting your licence yanked entirely?

In the days when taxes where higher, it seems that the government had a much lighter grasp on our lives. The system was a lot less rigged in favor of the rich - do the rich pay MORE for tickets? No, they actually pay less. Why? Because nice, new cars don't get pulled over as much.

Because new cars rarely get hit with "must repair" orders.

Because rich people can AFFORD to pay a $140.00 fine without having to skip meals.

Lower taxes without lower spending DOESN'T MEAN JACK CRAP.

One more thing; if you think the government stepping in to lower the price of gas is helpful, think again.

Customers pay what they will pay - oil company's know this.

If the government subsidizes gasoline and the price goes from $4.00 to $3.25, that's good, right? Wrong! Oil companies will IMMEDIATELY jack the price back up to $4.00! Why? Because the government did not include a mandatory cap.

Without a cap, the price will automatically set itself back to the mark that people are willing to pay!

Some folks make getting scammed into a full-time job.
