ABC radio news did a report in which they described "explosives used for bomb making". As if this was distinct from what other kinds of explosives? This was at 5:04 am today.

Is this like bullets used for shooting? What a bunch of hyperbolic dipshits.

In their defense, I must say that explosives are used for more than just bombs.

In addition to the usual construction and mining uses, explosives are used for welding: Introduction to Explosive Welding

Of course, I don't really expect journalists to be very familiar with any of that.

Uhh... did you notice any ... firecrackers on New Year's Eve? How soon we forget.

    Demolition?

    Mining?

    Rocket boosters?

    Clearing land?
