States should estimate the cost associated from ILLEGAL immigration and sue for those costs. Since the courts have said the states can do little to control ILLEGAL immigration because that is the federal governments responsibility. I believe the states will win the case. I know it is robbing Peter to pay Paul but it is more about making a point that the federal government can not just sit back and do nothing when it comes to ILLEGAL immigration. The federal government can not tie the hands of the state and say pay for this because I will do nothing.
