Do you have any remnants?
I had new gray carpet installed and I had two remnants that I had bound to use as welcome mats. About a week after I had the carpet installed one of my dogs got a hold of a Bic pen and brought it right in the middle of the living room and chewed it. The stain was about the size of a dime. I wish I'd thought of it at the time, but I could have cut the stain out and used one of the remnants. But I didn't. I used carpet cleaner and just made it worse.
I ended up buying a 8X10 area rug and throwing it down. It actually looked pretty good. It was a pretty cheap oriental knock off I got at K-Mart for about $89. But it looked nice.
