the Harry Reid ode to cowboy poetry is classic.
for those not in the know-
"The mean-spirited bill, HR 1 ... eliminates the National Endowment of the Humanities, National Endowment of the Arts," Reid said. "These programs create jobs. The National Endowment of the Humanities is the reason we have in northern Nevada every January a cowboy poetry festival. Had that program not been around, the tens of thousands of people who come there every year would not exist."

now, harry is up in arms because 61 Billion is to much to cut, ( the budget is 3.7 TRILLION ) 3 reps voted no because they don't thinks it not enough.
His offer? 6 billion....reps say 61 billion he says 6...does that sound like he is serious? I don't think so.
this cowboy poetry blurb s instructive in that he tips the dem hands, there is nothing they are willing to cut of cowboy poetry is the yardstick.
next week the ongoing budget resolution they passed lat week expires, the dems gave in to a 4 billion cut, this time? if they say no to the 61 billion I say don't vote for another resolution, thats it. till Obama come sout and gets in the fight and leads nothing. period.
And his naming Biden as his budget guy is BS, he flew to Europe the day after obama named him.......
even dems are calling on Obama to step up.....where is he? Oh wait he had the NHL Blackhawks at the WH today, yesterday he had his big bully session. whatever.
Well its obvious you have no concept of economics so here is a crash course for you.
People earn money, they spend money.
People who earn money in a town, usually spend money in that town. BUT when people come from out of town, they inject more money into the local economy.
So giving 1 million dollars or less to a cowboy poetry event that brings 10,000 people who spend money in the local economy with hotels, tickets, restaurants and other things. In Kansas City, we just had the Big 12 tournament in a taxpayer funded stadium. That brought in travelers for their teams, spending money and injecting more money into the economy.
Dallas just had the super bowl, they built that stadium with the help from the government and taxpayers. Which the super bowl helps generate jobs which generates more money, that generates more economic growth.
And republicans government can't stimulate the economy.
