When in Florida we once saw one scurry across the floor and I said did you see that? I was told that even though it looked like a cockroach, acted like a cockroach it wasn't a giant cockroach it was a palmetto bug. Myself, other then the size I didn't see the difference except i don't think the little northern version can drive a car.
