Several states have reported increases in initial claims (approximately 9,000 in total) for the week ending September 8, 2012 , as a result of Tropical Storm Issac," the Labor Department said in a statement.

Jobless claims rise, some due to Tropical Storm Isaac - Economy Watch

Obama says it was the dinky tropical storm cost 9,000 jobs!!!

WHAT. the F..k do you think HAPPENED when THESE EVENTS OCCURRED from 2001 through 2008??
WHERE IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING (INCLUDING SOME REAL IDIOT CONSERVATIVES!) for Bush??

1.) Dot.com bust cost $5 trillion in lost market value.. this means every year for 30 years now starting in 2000 the federal revenue is less then $166 billion written off against income taxes??? Was that Bush's fault?
How many people LOST jobs due to the bust??
According to the Los Angeles Times, when the dot-com bubble burst, it wiped out $5 trillion dollars in market value for tech companies. More than half of the Internet companies created since 1995 were gone by 2004 -
and hundreds of thousands of skilled technology workers were out of jobs.

2) Did YOU forget that 9/11 occurred and it cost $2 trillion over the next 30 years again $66 billion will NOT BE PAiD.. was that Bush's fault?
Jobs lost in New York owing to the attacks: 146,100 JUST in New York!!
9. Year 2001: September 11 Terrorist Attacks
The 9/11 terrorist attacks were the events that helped shape other financial events of the decade. After that terrible day in September 2001, our economic climate was never to be the same again. It was only the third time in history that the New York Stock Exchange was shut down for a period of time. In this case, it was closed from September 10 - 17. Besides the tragic human loss of that day, the economic loss cannot even be estimated.

Some estimate that there was over $60 billion in insurance losses alone.
Approximately 18,000 small businesses were either displaced or destroyed in Lower Manhattan after the Twin Towers fell. There was a buildup in homeland security on all levels.
9/11 caused a catastrophic financial loss for the U.S.

3) $1 trillion in written off losses due to the WORST Hurricane SEASONS in history!

The worst Katrina?? made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 3 in 2005. It took 1,836 lives and caused $81.2 billion in damages. Andrew slammed into South Florida in 1992 as a Category 5. It caused 40 deaths and $30 billion in property damage. More than 250,000 people were left homeless and 82,000 businesses were destroyed or damaged.
Hurricane Katrina ALONE!
Year 2005: Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
On August 25, 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the U.S. as a strong Category 3 or low Category 4 storm. It quickly became the biggest natural disaster in U.S. history, almost destroying New Orleans due to severe flooding.

Hurricane Rita quickly followed Katrina only to make matters worse. Between the two, more than $200 billion in damage was done. 400,000 jobs were lost and 275,000 homes were destroyed. Many of the jobs and homes were never to be recovered. Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced and over 1,000 were killed and more are missing. The effect on oil and gasoline prices was long-lasting.

400,000 jobs due to Hurricanes Katrina/Rita
145,000 jobs in NYC alone due to 9/11
300,000 jobs lost due to dot.com busts.

Almost 1 million jobs alone from those 3 events AND Obama cries about Tropical storm Isaac?????

DO YOU understand NONE of that was Bush's fault!
$266 billion a year in LOST federal revenue! DO YOU understand and NOT one dollar the fault of Bush!

The left will believe ANYTHING , Obama says. The drink his kool aid and he is their messiah

I can excuse the liberal/progressive Obamakool aid drinkers because THEY HONESTLY believe Obama is a God..
But I CAN'T excuse those so-called conservatives ESPECIALLY those that claim "Bush spent like a Drunken Sailor"!

Bush without those 3 major events would have overseen nearly $2.5 TRILLION MORE in tax revenue that was NOT collected because
starting in 2003 and due to the Dot.com $5 trillion loss $166 billion has been written off. Or the $2 trillion that is being written off
at $66 billion a year from 2004 due to 9/11. Or another $33 billion due to the $1 trillion in the worst hurricane seasons' losses starting 2004!

AND if the Gorelick Memo that prevented the CIA from telling the FBI about the 9/11 bombers that was put in place to protect Clinton from investigations of Chinese donations hadn't been there maybe 3,000 people, the Twin WTC towers would still be there!

But idiot conservatives HAVE NEVER when they make that "drunken sailor" analogy ONCE considered these nearly $266 billion a year in write offs, or 1 million people that were out of jobs, or tens of thousands of businesses put out of business by dot.com/9/11/worst hurricanes!

What is the problem with these conservatives? Do they NOT understand the concept of Net Operating Losses from the IRS? I EXCUSE liberals who DON'T have business or income taxes to report!
That NOL is the IRS write-off process that has cost at least $266 billion a year in Federal revenues!

So the BLS reports that the hurricane cost 9,000 jobs...

and you blow that up into the above rant?

You need help.

NO I want idiots LIKE YOU to comprehend that
1) Bush had 3 Major events that costs Federal Revenue $266 billion a year!
And that he DIDN'T "spend like a drunken Sailor"!
2) I want idiots like YOU to comprehend that these EVENTS put MAJOR dents in our
ECONOMY and IN Spite of GWB gross domestic product INCREASED by 16%
3) That this stupid meme, "Bush costs 800,000 jobs a MONTH" be totally debunked!

The way you and other idiots take ONE month and make it sound like EVERY MONTH is
totally WRONG .. totally a LIE!

Total people employed when Bush took office 2001 - There were 131,826,000!
Total people employed when Bush Left office 2008 - There were 136,790,000!
Almost 5 million more then when he started!

YET IDiOTS like you are excusing 9,000 jobs lost to a tropical storm as a BIG DEAL???

Talk about blowing out of proportion!
Why is it so difficult to admit the truth that the dot.com happened ..cost $5 trillion!
That 9/11 happened and cost $2 trillion as well as WORST HURRICANE SEASONS happened!

Why are idiot Bush bashers LIKE you totally IGNORING THOSE FACTS???

IF anything a HURRICANE would bring jobs, They need people to help clean up, help rebuild homes More people to get their stuff in order.. It might have temporary lost some jobs but more jobs will be created due to a hurricane then loss. And this all happens days after a hurricane and will last for months so this is NOT true Isaac is the reason. The reason is OBAMA sucks as president .

Huh? He didn't start two wars, create an unfunded program that was the largest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ and nearly double farm subsidies? That's not drunken?

You are one angry mofo. Have a drink and relax kid.

Right, so we lost 9,000 in the latest report. As people begin to recover we'll gain some - but if you think it happens within days of a hurricane take a look at LA after Katrina. Months, not days.

NO I want idiots LIKE YOU to comprehend that

That your advanced Obama Derangement Syndrome has almost entirely destroyed your ability to reason? Yes, we see that.

You get the shakes if you can't rant out some completely nonsensical hatred of Obama at least 3 times a day. That's what this is about. Feel better now?

So the BLS reports that the hurricane cost 9,000 jobs...

and you blow that up into the above rant?

Nitpicking...BLS doesn't report Unemployment Insurance Claims. ETA does.

I don't get the rant either. No one is making a big deal about the increase in claims. Claims went up about 15k (will be revised next week probably to show an increase of about 17k) and about 9k are attributed to Isaac. Big deal.

Weekly claims have been bouncing around the 380,000 range for months now. Almost, but not quite down to a decent level (below 370,00/week is ok, below 350,000/week is what we want).

Please explain this:
Huh? "He didn't start two wars,"
OK.. OK.. I guess your grade schooling didn't teach you anything did they?

Where was Al-Queda.. Afghanistan.
Who bombed the USA on 9/11? A-Queda.
Where did we go to as the USA did in WWI and WWII go to fight?

2nd.. Iraq Liberation? That was a resumption of a 1991 CEASE FIRE!
And why were we fighting in 1991? An ally Kuwait was invaded by Saddam which when we beat his military he signed the Cease Fire, which he subsequently broke dozens of times.

Now for your next totally IGNORANT statement:
"create an unfunded program that was the largest expansion of the welfare state "
A) Prove where it was "unfunded idiot! Did you know Prior to the Moderization Act of 2003 there were 200+ Medicare contractors and through elimination of much duplicity Medicare was able to save BILLIONS in administrative costs which
were used to mitigate the Part D which again I am right now a beneficiary !
So Please don't present hysterical, totally unfounded comments about something that's SAVING ME $2,000 a year and Obama wants to take away!!

"double farm subsidies? "
Prove it other then "Vanity Fair" saying so!
Give me the FACTS Idiot!

Oh gawd....still justifying the Iraq war. Get over it. It cost us blood and treasure and gained us next to nothing.

Now for your next totally IGNORANT statement:

A) Prove where it was "unfunded idiot!

What payment mechanism was put in place to pay for the Medicare Part D program? I'll wait...
