I'm not sure when the Russification of The Ukraine began ... this was well underway when my ancestors arrived in the late 18th Century ... by the middle of the 20th Century, "Ukrainian" as an ethnicity was all but eliminated ... Stalin started the genocide in the mid-1930's ... and when the Nazis rolled in they were more than happy to kill the Slavs off along with the Jews ... so by the time the Red Army returned, finishing off the Ukrainians (and destroying their history) was easy as pi ...

Russia is on a humanitarian mission to liberate the Ukrainian people from tyranny and teach them how to live honest productive lives without fear.
