of course regulation has an effect, but producers produce when they can make a profit. And as the last Trump year showed, they don't when the can't.

I question whether a potus can levy a tax or fee to increase the cost of a lease to "pay" the govt for environmental concerns. but it's all about potential for profit. AND YOUR BRIANLESS PARTISANSHIP SUCKS

Maybe the oil companies ramped up production once the regulations were eased
and that is what helped bring down the cost of oil.

Along with supply there also has to be demand. Covid had and still has a major impact. When people were staying home, demand drops and now that we are back at work, demand is naturally up. And the oil companies are trying desperately to make up their losses. But Biden is to blame for everything? BTW, there needs to be regulations or we would have no environment left with the greed of big oil. ANWAR? Yeah, I'm sure that will solve everything and the oil companies will sell at a huge discount, right?

The solution is to not be dependent on other countries, especially pyranas, for our oil and not to be anti-oil and not want to increase labor costs for everyone and not to indiscriminantly add trillions onto our debt. And, if we had not let the Taliban swarm to victory so easily in Afghanistan, maybe we wouldn't be in the situation with Russia/Ukraine that we are in now.
