A Saudi court sentenced a female journalist Saturday to 60 lashes for her work on a controversial Arabic-language TV show that aired an episode in which a man bragged about his sex life, two sources told CNN.

The court in Jeddah also imposed a two-year travel ban on Rosanna Al-Yami, according to a Saudi Information Ministry official, who could not be named because he is not authorized to speak to the media. The ban prevents her from traveling outside Saudi Arabia.

60 lashes just for putting on a show about a man's sex life. The saudi government should be ashamed of it's self

Aren't theocracies soooooo 21st century?

This highlights the fallacy of the term "multi culturalism" (not to be confused with pluralism) but rather cultural relativism, where all cultures, religions, thought is deemed to have the same dignity.

Sorry, just as in biology, thought and culture lives or dies in a Darwinian hot house.

Cultures compete; if they are radically different they will do so to the death.

And Western, democratic society must either defend those values abroad or see them slowly die at the hands of those willing to commit jihad here.

It is a small world after all, but also a fucking dangerous one.

Amazing that thay are still one of our closests allies

All that change in culture after 9-11 didn't accomplish much

It's their country and their laws.

The slut broke them and thus became a criminal.

So why should we care about her punishment?

Most people care about her punishment because they are decent human beings. The fact that YOU don't care, tells us alot about you.

The woman was found guilty in a Saudi court.

As a convicted criminal she was given a punishment.

Just because she is a journalist doesn't give her a free pass to break the law.

Your right, we shouldn't care about those ignorant, primitive assholes! We should just just shrug when Isreal goes in and mows them down like the wild animals that they are or we accidently bomb one of their villages. Who cares!?! We all know those imams and judges are going to be jerking off watching this woman get thrashed anyway. It's one of the few thrills they really get. Something really exciting about seeing a woman being whipped like that, huh? That's why there's such big crowds yelling and screaming for more during these kinds of displays of justice. We've all seen it on YouTube, the hangings, the stonings, etc. Jumping up and down! Exciting times!! Really gets them randy. Hell, we should just join in the fun. How many of you assholes are there? Think of the grand time we'd have thrashing your sorry asses around.

Her criminal act took place in Saudi Arabia.

They are one of our closest allies in our war of terror.

We need to support their actions in ridding their country of all criminals and terrorists.

First the only crime committed here was the one done by the prudish uptight old men who cast her sentence. Second, your right Saudi Arabia is one of our closest allies and, therefore, we should turn a blind eye because we need their support. Just like the rest of the world should turn a blind eye to what we're doing to those real criminals and terrorists in Cuba. They were caught shooting at our soldiers so if we lock em up and attach car batteries to their private parts why should anyone care? They broke our laws. We should do what ever we want to and to hell with the rest of the world's opinion.

I think she was trying to say in a civilized world, the punishment most often fits the crime, 60 lashes aka death for making a sex film seems a bit much aka barbaric! yep that the mooselems for ya.

I'd like to know exactly what was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disgraceful in that show that it deserves a death sentence.
What happens to the man? Will he get 1000 lashes for bragging about his sexploits?
Or is this Yet Another Example of Islam's "loving" etc. that they will judicially murder a woman because she challenged them on their bigotry and double standard?
