Samsung Galaxy Tab III

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab III, and I bought a USB adapter that is supposed to allow you to plug in a USB flash drive, keyboard, mouse, etc. It just doesn't work. Any ideas?

Like my IPad, you probably need to go into settings and "identify" it.
