Rutgers professors to Condi Rice: Go home, and take your speech with you

By Cheryl K. Chumley-The Washington Times Thursday, March 6, 2014

Professors and students at Rutgers University have joined forces to protest an administrative decision to ask former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to serve as this year’s keynote commencement speaker.

The university’s New Brunswick Faculty Council passed a resolution that demands the board of governors take back its invitation to Ms. Rice, Fox News reported. The reason?

The council said the school should not let Ms. Rice speak because she had a role in the war in Iraq and in President George W. Bush’s allowance for “enhanced interrogation techniques” like water boarding, Fox News said.

Actually it's racism and sexism.

rutgers is known for football, a mans sport and the coach is white.

the race card doesn't have to make sense when dems use it, so why should we have to make it make sense?

Liberals play the race card all the time, yet you have never asked them to "show us."

Sounds hypocritical to me.

Nothing racist about this, the professors and the students are making a stand against the Bush administration.

Er..um... that's not racism, they don't like her politics, as a matter of fact neither do I but I'll give credit where credit is due Ms. Rice seems highly intelligent, articulate and classy so I don't see why any rational University Faculty would object to her giving a speech on their campus, unless of course they're trying to suppress alternate viewpoints......naw left wing, ivory tower pinheads NEVER do that. :doubt:

No one lied us into war, that rhetoric is just as stupid as saying people that disagree with Obama are racist.

What was allegedly "racist" about their decision? Why does it seem like there's a trend of republican/conservatives who have complained and railed aganst the so-called "race card", now like to use it quite liberally (no pun intended) when it comes to Black republicans and conservatives?

That said; I totally disagree with their decision as it goes against my Liberal principles that encourages the free and open exchange of ideas and opinions. In my opinion, "echo chambers" stunt learning and growth.

He's only doing what race baiting liberals do, play the race card in spite of an argument. So don't be surprised when someone else uses it on you instead.

And you can't save the unsavable. They can save themselves especially when they get what they thought they wanted. Pot/Water/Frog/Heat applied slowly.

You know what provoked this issue at Rutgers? Hatred. And before you go assailing Rice for being a warmonger, consider the fact that Hillary and her bunch were members of an administration who has killed dozens, if not hundreds of children and civilians with drone strikes, started a war in Libya, funded Syrian rebels in their civil war, and donated money, planes and tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Let's check the hypocrisy at the door buddy.
