April 2015 – YELLOWSTONE - Russian geopolitical analyst says the best way to attack the United States is to detonate nuclear weapons to trigger a supervolcano at Yellowstone National Park or along the San Andreas fault-line on California’s coast. Isn't new. Have looked into the feasibility of deliberately setting off volcanos and earthquakes ourselves.

Trouble with doing it is with volcanos to say nothing of supervolcanos is the effects aren't limited to the target vicinity. And in the case of Yellowstone cooking off you're talking about a mass human extinction event from the after effects like starvation as all plant life dies from reduced sunlight and 'volcanic winter.'

Setting off 'slip thrust' faults like off the coast of Washington state could work though. Resulting tsunami would devastate Seattle and cause as much as trillions of dollars in damage. But of course the tsunami goes westward too.

Then the final nail in this particular coffin is any nuclear missile launched from anywhere on Earth is instantly detected by satellites. We'll know who launched and what the return address for our own massive retalitory strike is.

Strictly speaking, nuclear missiles aren't actually weapons. They can't be used without literally shooting yourself in the head. They're economic weapons. When you have nukes, your enemies want them too. But getting them is incredibly expensive. So if you don't want the blood and horror of an actual war, but you wanna hit an enemy, get some nukes. Make it known so they're forced to match you. Whoever's richest will win.

The holy grail of weapons research is a WMD which when used is mistaken for a natural event. Anything used that's obvious, can't be used. A mushroom cloud is very obvious. A disease or chemical engineered for bio-chemical warare is also very obvious. So military scientists are trying to find a mass effect weapon which when used is mistaken for natural disaster.

My personal hypothesis is they found one already but not in the way they expected. Climate change. Effects of climate change are devastating for everyone. But if you're in a rich country like the US the effects can be mitigated or minimized. But the poorer countries often also potential future enemies will be devastated by it. In effect then, deliberately and knowingly contributing to climate change is an attack where the attack is mistaken for natural events even though the causes are known. But instead of blaming nations for dleiberately attacking others militarily, they blame industry. Consequently, there's a massive effort to deny climate change. Only conceivable reason to deny something obviously happening is the intent is deliberate and not incidental.
