The Russian Defense Ministry says it is examining plans to conduct joint military exercises with India and Japan in 2015.

Russia’s Eastern Military District (EMD) plans to carry out international naval exercises with India and Japan sometime in 2015, the EMD representative, Alexander Gordeev, said on Friday.

“These are joint Russian-Indian naval exercises, Indra-2015, and joint Russian-Japanese naval exercises, SAREX-2015. The areas where the drills will be conducted, participants, goals and objectives will be agreed and approved by EMD representatives and naval forces of the participating countries next year at several conferences,” Gordeev stated.
