Trump kills Obama rule aimed at protecting independent farmers from big food companies: Trump officials quash litigation rule for farms

The Trump administration is rescinding an Obama-era rule that would have made it easier for independent farmers to bring lawsuits against big food companies they raise chicken and other livestock for.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyard Administration last week withdrew an interim final rule a day before it was set to take effect. The rule aimed to make it easier for farmers to bring companies like Tyson Foods, Pilgrim Pride and Perdue to court over what they say are unfair, deceptive and retaliatory practices.

All Obama XOs should be cancelled. Nothing that faggot did was for the good of farmers or anybody else.

You should read about the issue there.

But Phifer, a poultry farmer who raises chickens in North Carolina for Pilgrim’s Pride, said most farmers don’t know what they are getting themselves into.

“Folks are so uneducated in growing poultry for large integrators. Everyone wants to be their own boss, but they don’t realize they are going to be told every move to make and when to make it,” he said.

Now, thanks to the Trump administration, he said farmers have no recourse.

“Do you think I could sleep at night if I sat behind a judge’s bench and told a farmer he has no right to equal protection under the law because he couldn’t prove [the company’s action] harmed competition between Pilgrim’s Pride and Tyson?” he asked.

“Do you see how totally ludicrous this is?” he added.

Both Howell and Phifer voted for Trump. Phifer said he now wishes he hadn’t.

Any law or Exec Order that makes it easier to litigate sounds like it was designed to help the lawyers. Lawyers don't need any more help. They are already f****g up the country quite well while filling their pockets.

Small farmers have the ability to sue if they feel they were wronged.

The rural farmers don't realize that the democratic party is their best friend that protects them from the big bad corporate wolf. But hell, they'll keep stupidly voting republican right up until they're bought out.
Every time you turn around trump is doing something that will screw his base, but so far they're too damned dumb to see it.

Maybe trump will at least give his supporters enough chicken grease to keep themselves lubed as he bends them over their kitchen tables whenever he pleases.

Jesus pictured showing us all his number of educated parents, while Dems layer gets whacked for the Russian dossier. Don't rely on democratic leukemia to save you. Lake Erie is in trouble due to farming, and it is the City that invents agriculture, not the other way around. Better a street-sweeper than a judge.

Except that the Democratic party wants to eliminate the electoral college which would take away any chance the fly over farmer's vote would mean anything.

Tell that to a farmer who has a pond on his property designated a "waterway of the United States"

Or one that finds a needle-nosed hooker fly in said pond, and loses his property rights over it.

There will always be lawyers in cases. And what does a pond or hooker have to do with anythang?

It counters Science-derp's assertion that big government democrats are friends to small farmers.

It just shows that the Republican Party is the puppet of big business. All big business has to do is tell the GOP to jump and they just ask how high. We have the Democrat Party that overregulates and the Republican Party who doesn't want any regulations. Neither position helps the country.

Or one that levels the playing field. Big business has access to lawyers. Why are you against helping the little guy?
